If you're interested in knowing a full summary of some of the basics of SEO according to our best practices, you've come to the right content. This tutorial doesn't immediately change your site to improve your first ranking on Google. However, how it works best detailed below can make it easier for search engines to crawl, index, and understand your content both on page and off page.


Oftentimes, search engine optimization (SEO) is all about making small changes to some parts of your site. When viewed in isolation, this change may seem like a gradual increase, but when combined with other optimizations such as using keywords, creating quality articles, these changes can have a significant impact on the performance and user experience of your site in organic search results.  


Some of the things covered in some of these topics are specific components of the page, and you're likely familiar with a large number of them. However, you may not use it to its full potential.


You should create site content or content marketing to benefit your readers, and any optimizations should be aimed at making the user experience better. One of those users is search engines, link building and keyword research that helps other users find your content. Search Engine Optimization is all about helping search engines understand and display content. 


Your site may be smaller or larger than our sample site, and offer the most varied content, but the optimization topics we discuss below can apply to all site sizes and types. We hope this tutorial gave you some new ideas on how to improve your site's performance.


Here's a quick glossary of the important terms used in this tutorial:

Index 

Google stores all the web pages it finds in the Google index. The index entry for each page describes the content and position (URL) of that page. Indexing is when Google takes a page, reads it, and adds it to its index: Google indexes several pages on my site today.

Crawl  

The process of browsing new or updated pages. Google finds URLs by following links, reading sitemaps, and in other ways. Google crawls the site, looks for new pages, then indexes them (if so).

Crawlers 

Automatic software that crawls (fetch) pages from the site and indexes them.

Googlebot 

The common name of the Google crawler. Googlebot crawls the site constantly.

SEO  

Crawl engine optimization: the process of making your site better for crawl engines. Besides that, SEO is a position held by people who work in this sector: We recently worked on a new SEO to increase the appearance of our site on the site.


Is Your Blog on Google?

Determine what your site is listed in Google's index - Perform a site search with 'site: your site's core URL'. If the results appear, it means that your site is listed in index. For example, a search for "site:wikipedia.org" would return this result.


If your site isn't on Google - Even though Google crawls billions of pages, there's no denying that a lot of sites are missing out. When our crawlers drop certain sites, it's often for one of the following reasons:

  • Site does not link well with other sites on the site
  • You just released a new site and it hasn't been crawled by Google
  • Site design makes it difficult for Google to crawl content efficiently
  • Google gets an error when trying to crawl your site
  • Your rules block Google from crawling sites

How do I get my site listed on Google?


Inclusion in Google search results is free and easy; You don't even need to submit your site to Google. Google is a fully automated search engine that uses a site crawler to search sites continuously, looking for sites to add to our index. 


In fact, a large number of sites listed in our search results are not manually submitted for listing, but are found and added automatically when we crawl the site. Learn how Google finds, crawls, and broadcasts pages.


We offer a webmaster basis for building a site that's right for Google. While there is no guarantee that our crawler will find a particular site, following this tutorial will help get your site listed in search results.


Google Search Console provides several tools to help you submit content to Google and monitor your status in Google Search. If desired, Search Console can even post a statement regarding crisis issues that Google has encountered on your site. Sign up for Search Console.

  • Am I providing high quality content to users?
  • Is my local business on Google?

Do you need an SEO expert?

An SEO expert ("search engine optimization") is a person who is trained to increase your site's visibility on search engines. By following this tutorial, you should have enough knowledge to make the most of your site. In addition, you can use the services of a professional SEO who can help audit your pages.


Using SEO services is a big decision that can increase your site rankings and save time. Make sure you know what are the advantages of using SEO services, and the disadvantages that can be caused by irresponsible SEO on your site. Many SEOs and other agencies and counselors provide useful services to site owners, including:

If you plan to use SEO services, the sooner the better. A good time to work on SEO is when you are considering redesigning your site or planning to release a new site. With that, you and the SEO can make sure that you create a site that is crawler-friendly. However, good SEO can help you improve your existing site.

Help Google find your content

The first step to showing your site on Google is to make sure that Google can find it. The best thing to do is to submit a sitemap. A sitemap is a file on a site that tells crawling engines about new or changed pages on your site. Learn more about creating and submitting sitemaps.

Telling Google which pages not to crawl

For general info, block unwanted crawling using robots.txt

The "robots.txt" file will tell the crawling engine when it can connect and crawl your side of the site. This file, which needs to be named "robots.txt", is placed in the root directory of the site. There is a chance that pages locked by robots.txt can still be crawled, so for sensitive pages, you should use a more secure system.

You may not want certain pages on your site to be crawled because there is no benefit to users if they are found in search engine results. If you want to prevent search engines from crawling your pages, Google Search Console has a suitable robots.txt generator to help you create this file. 


Note that if your site uses a subdomain and you want certain pages not to be crawled on a specific subdomain, you'll need to create a separate robots.txt file for that subdomain. For more information about robots.txt, we recommend reading this guide on using robots.txt.


Learn some other ways to prevent content from showing in search results14.


Avoid:

  • Crawling by Google on your internal search results pages. Users don't like clicking on search engine results only to be redirected to another search results page on your site.
  • Crawling on the URL generated by the proxy service.


For sensitive information, use a safer method


Robots.txt is not an appropriate or effective way to block sensitive or confidential material. This file only instructs well-behaved crawlers that the page cannot be crawled, but does not prevent the server from serving the page to the browser that requested it. 


One reason is that search engines can still refer to the URL you blocked (showing only the URL, not showing the title or snippet), if there happens to be a link to that URL somewhere on the Internet (like a referrer log). In addition, non-compliant or poorly behaved search engines that don't understand the Robots Exclusion Standard may be disobeying your robots.txt command. 


Finally, curious users can check the directory or subdirectory in the robots.txt file and guess the URL of the content you want to hide.


In this case, use the noindex tag if you just want the page not to appear on Google, but allow users with the link to access the page. For true security, you should use an appropriate authorization method, such as asking for the user's password, or removing the page completely from the site.

Helping Google (and users) understand content

Let Google see your page the way users see it

When crawling a page, Googlebot will see the same page as a normal user would see15. For optimal rendering and indexing, always allow Googlebot to access the JavaScript, CSS, and image files used by the site. If your site's robots.txt file does not allow crawling of these assets, it will directly interfere with the performance of our algorithms for rendering and indexing your content. As a result, the site's ranking is not optimal.


Recommended action:

  • Use the URL Inspection tool16. This lets you see exactly how Googlebot sees and renders content, which will help you identify and fix a number of indexing issues on your site.


Create unique and accurate page titles

The <title> tag tells users and search engines about the topic of a particular page. The <title> tag must be placed inside the <head> element of the HTML document. We recommend that you create a unique title for each page on your site.

Create good titles and snippets in search results

If your document appears on a search results page, the content of the title tag may appear on the first line of search results (if you're not familiar with the various parts of Google search results, we recommend watching the anatomy video of search results).


The title for the home page can include the name of your site/business and can include some other important information such as the physical location of the business or maybe some of its main focus or offerings.

Describe page content accurately


Choose a title that is natural and explains the topic of the page content effectively.


Avoid:

  • A title that has nothing to do with the content on the page.
  • Use of default or cryptic titles such as "Untitled" or "New Page 1".
  • Create a unique title for each page


Ideally, each page on your site should have a unique title, which helps Google know how different each page on your site is. If your site uses a separate mobile page, you will also need to use a good title on the mobile version.


Avoid:

  • Use one title for all or most of the pages on your site.
  • Use a short but descriptive title


The title is informative and short. If the title is too long or is deemed less relevant, Google may only show some or one of the automatically generated titles in search results. Google may also show different titles, depending on the user's query or the device used to search.


Avoid:

  • A very long title and not useful to the user.
  • Unnecessary keywords in the title tag.


Using the "description" meta tag

The on-page description meta tag provides a summary of the page's content to Google and other search engines. The page title can be a few words or phrases, while the on-page description meta tag may be a sentence or two, or even a short paragraph. Just like the <title> tag, the description meta tag is placed within the <head> element of your HTML document.

What is the purpose of the description meta tag?

The description meta tag is important because Google is likely to use it as a quote for your page. See if we describe "possibility" because Google may choose to use the relevant side of the text that appears on your page, if that text matches the user's query. Adding a description meta tag to each page will be useful if Google can't find the right text options to use in the citation.

Create the right page content summary

Write a description that will tell and pique the interest of users when they see the description meta tag as a quote in search results. 


While there is no minimum or optimal length for text in the description meta tag, you should make sure the text is long enough to show completely in Search (important to remember that users may see different citation sizes, depending on the pace and place they are searching), and contain all the info related to what users need to determine if the page is useful and what they are looking for.

Stay away from:

  • Writing meta description tags that have nothing to do with page content.
  • Use of general descriptions such as "This is a page" or "A page about baseball cards".
  • Description that only contains keywords.
  • Copy and paste the entire document content into the description meta tag.


Use a unique description for each page

Having a different meta description tag for each page helps both users and Google, especially in searches that show users multiple pages in your domain (for example, searches using the site: operator). 

If your site has several thousand or even millions of pages, it is not recommended to manually create description meta tags. In this case, you can automatically generate description meta tags based on the content of each page.

Stay away from:

  • Use a single description meta tag on all pages of your website or most of the pages.

Use title tags to prioritize important text

Use meaningful titles to show the necessary topics, and please create a hierarchical arrangement for your content, so that users can easily see your documents.

Think you're writing an outline

Similar to writing an outline for a bold paper, think of some specific points and sub-points of content on the page and determine the right location to use the title tag.

Stay away from:

  • Putting text in the title tag doesn't help define page layout.
  • The use of title tags is even more appropriate to use other tags such as and .
  • Inconsistency and irregularity in title tag size.


Use the title tag sparingly on the page

Use the title tag in the right location. Too many title tags on a page can make it difficult for users to scan content and determine the end of a topic and the beginning of another topic.

Stay away from:

  • Excessive use of title tags on a page.
  • Use the longest title.
  • The use of title tags that are only based on visual text style and does not represent the structure.


Adding designed data markup

Designated data is code that you can add to web pages to describe content to search engines, so that crawler engines can understand the page content better. Search engines can use this knowledge to show more useful (and attention-grabbing!) content in search results. As a result, it can help attract loyal customers who are right for your business.

For example, if you have an online store and markup a particular product page, this treatment helps us understand if that page displays a bike, prices, and loyal customer reviews. We may display that info in the quote for related query search results. We say as "rich results".


Apart from using data markup designed for rich results, we can use it to display related results in other patterns. For example, if you have a physical store, putting a markup on the opening time of the store will allow potential loyal customers to find your store when they need it, and tell them whether the store is opening or closing when loyal customers are looking.

You can markup some business-related substances:

  • Products you sell
  • Business position
  • Videos about your product or business
  • Opening hours
  • Events and listings
  • Recipe
  • Your company symbol, and more.


It should use designed data with supported notation markup to describe your content. You can add markup to the HTML code on your pages, or use tools like Data Highlighter and Markup Helper24 (check out the Best Practices section for full details on the feature).


Check markup using Rich Results testing

After providing the content markup, you can use the Google25 Rich Results test to make sure there are no mistakes when applying it. You can enter the URL where the content exists, or copy the actual HTML that includes the markup.

Stay away from:

  • Improper use of markup.
  • Use Data Highlighter


If you want to try providing tailored markup without changing your site's source code, you can use Data Highlighter which is a free and integrated tool in Search Console that supports subsets of content types.


If you want to get markup code that you can copy and paste into your page, try the Markup Helper tool.

Stay away from:

  • Change the site's source code if you don't trust the markup implementation.
  • Keep an eye out for markup on the page


The various rich results reports in Search Console show the number of pages on the site identified as having a certain type of markup, the number of times the markup appeared in search results, and the number of clicks on the markup over the last 90 days. This report shows the errors we have diagnosed.

Stay away from:

  • Additional markup data that is not visible to the user.
  • False discussion or inappropriate markup additions.

Properly designed data on the page makes the page eligible to have some special features in Search results, including discussion stars, attractively decorated results, and more. View a gallery of the types of search results that match your page.

Control your site hierarchy

Know how the engine crawls using the URL

Search engines need a unique URL per side of content in order to crawl and index that content, and redirect users to that content. Other content - for example, other products in the store - and modified content - for example, translations or local types - need to use separate URLs to show up properly in searches.


URLs are usually separated into sections:

protocol://hostname/path/filename?querystring#fragment

Example:

https://www.example.com/RunningShoes/Womens.htm?size=8#info


Google recommends that all sites use https:// whenever possible. The hostname is where the site is hosted, usually using the same domain name you use for e-mail. Google compares the versus "www" and "non-www" (eg, "www.example.com" or simply "example.com"). When adding a site to Search Console, it should add versus http:// and https://, and versus "www" and "non-www".


The column, filename, and query string determine what content from your server is reached. These 3 sides are case sensitive, so "FILE" will return another URL with "file". Hostnames and procedures are case insensitive; until the use of lowercase or uppercase letters has no effect.


The section (in this case, "#info") usually identifies which side of the page the browser scrolls to. Because the content is generally the same, regardless of the section, crawler engines generally underestimate what parts are used.


When pointing to the main page, the slash after the hostname is optional as it will redirect the user to similar content ("https://example.com/" is the same as "https://example.com"). For paths and filenames, a forward slash will indicate another URL (indicating a file or directory), eg, "https://example.com/fish" as opposed to "https://example.com/fish/".

Site navigation is important in helping visitors to find the content they want quickly. This feature can help search engines understand content that is considered important by site owners. While Google search results are given at the page level, Google often predicts the role of a page on the site on a basic basis.

Target navigation based on your patio page

All sites have a terrace or "root" page, which is usually the most visited page on the site and the initial place to navigate for some visitors. Unless your site only has a few pages, you should think about how visitors navigate from the root page to pages with more detailed content. Do you have enough pages around which a particular topic can be described via a single page (eg root page -> list of related topics -> specific topic)? Do you have several hundred different products that are important to be classified on several pages of groups and subcategories?


Using the 'breadcrumb list'

Breadcrumb is a row of internal links at the bottom or top of the page that allows visitors to return to the original page or connect to the root page quickly. In general breadcrumbs, a common page (usually the root page) is the first page, the leftmost link, and further to the right will display a more detailed side list. Should use breadcrumb28 designed data markup when displaying breadcrumbs.


Create simple navigation pages for users

A navigation page is a simple page on your site that displays the layout of the site, and is generally divided into a hierarchical list of pages on the site. Visitors can visit this page if they are having problems finding a page on your site. While search engines will visit this page to get a good crawl scope on the various pages on your site, this page is primarily intended for human visitors.


Create a hierarchy that flows in a natural way

Make it easy for users to jump from generic content to more detailed content they expect on your site. Add navigation pages as needed and use these pages efficiently in your internal linking structure. 


Make sure all pages on your site are reachable via links, and pages don't need an internal "search" role to be found. Link to related pages, if such, to allow users to find similar content.

Stay away from:

  • A hard-to-navigate link network, for example, links every page on your site to every other page.
  • Mostly cutting content (it takes 20 clicks from the main page to get to the desired page).


Use text to navigate

Organizing large amounts of navigation to and from various pages on your site via text links will make it easier for search engines to crawl and understand your site. When using JavaScript to build the page, use the "a" component with the URL as the value of the "href" attribute, and make all menu points on page load instead of waiting for user relationships.

Stay away from:

  • Navigation that is completely divided into images or animations.
  • Use of plugin or script based event handlers for navigation.


Create navigation pages for users, sitemaps for search engines

Include a simple navigation page for your entire site (or the most important page, if you have a few hundred or a few thousand pages) for users. Create an XML sitemap file to make sure search engines find new and updated pages on your site, including all relevant URLs and the most recent modified date of the custom content.

Stay away from:

  • Time-lapsed idle navigation page with broken links.
  • Work on navigation pages that only provide pages without controlling them, for example by subject.


Presenting a useful 404 page

Users sometimes link to pages that are not on your site, either by following a broken link or writing the wrong URL. Using a custom 404 page that redirects users to an accessible page on your site can improve the quality of their experience. 

A 404 page should have a link that takes the user back to the root page and can link to popular or user-friendly content on your site. You can use Google Search Console to find the source of the URL that is causing the "not found" error.

Stay away from:

  • Indexing of 404 pages on crawl engines (make sure the site's server is configured to provide an HTTP 404 status code or - on JavaScript based sites - include a noindex tag if the requested page does not exist).
  • Close the 404 page so that it is not crawled via the robots.txt file.
  • Blurred messages like "Not found", "404", or even no 404 page.
  • 404 page design that doesn't match the other side of the site.


A simple URL will convey info content

Creating prescriptive filenames and groups for documents on your site not only helps keep your site organized, but creates easier-to-understand URLs for anyone who wants to link to your content. Visitors may not be so interested in seeing the longest and most confusing URLs, which contain only a few recognizable words.


The following URLs can be confusing and difficult for users:

Meaningful URLs are getting more useful and easy to understand in other frameworks:

Finally, it should be noted that the URL to the document is generally shown in Google search results under the document title.

Google is adept at crawling all types of URL structures, even if those URLs are quite difficult. However, you should make the URL as simple as possible.


Use sentence in URL

URLs containing sentences related to the content and structure of your site make it easier for visitors to visit your site.

Stay away from:

  • Use of long URLs with unnecessary benchmarks and session IDs.
  • Generic page name selection such as "page1.html".
  • Use of unneeded keywords such as "card-baseball-card-baseball-kartubisbol.htm".


Create a simple directory structure

Use a directory structure that controls your content well and makes it easier for visitors to know where the content is on your site. Try using your directory structure to show the type of content found at that URL.

Stay away from:

  • Use of difficult subdirectory levels, such as ".../dir1/dir2/dir3/dir4/dir5/dir6/page.html".
  • Use of directory names that have nothing to do with the content in it.


Create 1 versus for 1 URL to link document

To keep users from linking to one version of a URL and other users linking to the other (this behavior may worsen that content's track record between URLs), you should focus on using and pointing to a single URL in internal links and layouts on your pages. 


If you feel that several people are connecting to the same content via multiple URLs, setting up a 301 switch from unwanted URLs to master URLs is the perfect solution in this case. You can use the canonical URL or use the link rel="canonical" component if you can't change the user.

Stay away from:

  • Access similar content from subdomain pages and special directories, for example, "domain.com/page.html" and "sub.domain.com/page.html".


Maximizing your content

Make your site interesting and useful

Engaging and useful content will have a greater impact on your site than the other factors reviewed here. Users know quality content when they see it and the opportunity to direct other users to that content. This can be done through website posting, social media services, e-mail, community, or other media.


The spread of the site either through social media or word of mouth is a factor that helps make your site's track record in the eyes of users and Google, usually this is accompanied by quality content.

Identify the content that readers expect (and deliver to them)

Think of the sentences that users are likely to crawl to find your content. A user who has extensive knowledge of a topic is likely to use different keywords in a search query than someone who is not very knowledgeable about the topic. 


For example, old football fans might search for [fifa], a summary of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association, while new fans might use a more general query like [football match]. 


To give positive results, you can rely on the use of keywords when writing content and take into account differences in user search behavior in using those keywords. Google AdWords provides a concise Keyword Planner that helps you discover new types of keywords and view the predicted search volume for each keyword. 


In addition, Google Search Console provides the top-most search query that will return your site, and the search queries that drive the largest number of users to your site in the Perform Report.


Think about creating a new and useful service that other sites don't sell. You can write original research pieces, share compelling informational stories, or take advantage of a unique user base. Other sites may lack the referrals or experts to do this.


Write down easy-to-read text

Users like content that is well-written and easy to read.

Stay away from:

  • Negligence when writing text to bring up some spelling errors and language style.
  • Content that is recorded haphazardly or of low quality.
  • Inserting text in images and videos for textual content: the user may want to copy and paste the text and the search engine cannot read the text.


Organize your topic clearly

Controlling content neatly will help visitors because they can guess where a content topic starts and where it ends. Grouping content into appropriate groups and sections will help users find the content they are looking for quickly.

Stay away from:

  • The use of large portions of text in various topics onto pages without paragraphs, subtitles, or layout divisions.


Create new unique content

New content will not only bring existing visitors back to your site, but bring in new visitors.

Stay away from:

  • Iterating (or even writing) existing content is of little use to the user.
  • Duplicate or write content with the most similar versus other content on the site.
  • Explore duplicate content further


Maximize content for users, not for crawling engines

Generally, positive results can be obtained by creating the site according to the user's requirements, and making sure the site is easily accessible by search engines.

Stay away from:

  • Keywords that are unnecessary and in large numbers to be assigned to search engines but are annoying or may not make sense to the user.
  • Blocks of text like "spelling mistakes are often used to reach this page" which do not provide much benefit to the user.
  • Hiding text from the user means cloaking37, but showing it to the crawling engine.


Take action with the direction of growing user confidence

Users will feel comfortable visiting your site if they feel the site can be trusted.

Sites with a good track record can be trusted. Build a track record for skill and confidence in a particular area.


Provide information about who published your site, provided the content, and what it meant. Shopping sites and other financial business transactions must have loyal customer service information that is sure and provides satisfaction to help users solve problems. Information sites must provide clear information about who is responsible for the content.


Using the right technology is also important. If the checkout page on a shopping site does not have a secure network, the user cannot trust the site.


Clarify skills and authority

The skills and authority of the site improve its quality. Make sure the content on your site is created or edited by people who are skilled in the topic. For example, provide an expert or expert source that can help users understand the article. Giving strong agreement on the page regarding scientific topics is a good practice if such agreement exists.


Give the right amount of content for your subject

Creating high-quality content requires at least one of the following: time, effort, skill, and talent. Content must be factually precise, clearly noted, and in-depth. So for example, if you describe your page as a recipe, provide a complete recipe that is easy to follow, not just a set of ingredients or a description of the base of the dish.

Note the good text link

Text link is the text that appears in a link. This text tells the user and Google about the page you are linking to. Links on your page may be internal links—pointing to other pages on your site—or external links—pointing to content on other sites. In one of these cases, the better your link text, the easier it is for users to search for and the easier it is for Google to understand the page you are linking to.

With such text links, users and search engines can easily understand the content of the linked page.


Define prescriptive text

The link text you use for a link should provide at least the basic idea of ​​the linked page.

Stay away from:

  • Generic link text such as "page", "article", or "click here".
  • Text that is off-topic or may have nothing to do with the content of the linked page.
  • Usually the use of page URLs as text links, although this is allowed, for example in promoting or directing new site addresses.


Write down the text briefly

Write quick but prescriptive text—usually just a few words or short phrases.

Stay away from:

  • Long text links, such as long sentences or short paragraphs.


Link pattern so it's easy to see

Make it so that users can easily compare between common text and link text in your links. Your content becomes less useful if the user drops the link or maybe accidentally clicks on it.

Stay away from:

  • Use of CSS or text styles that make links look like plain text.


Think about text links for internal links

You might generally think of linking links to take users off-site, but you should pay more attention to the link text used for internal links to help users and Google navigate your site better.

Stay away from:

  • The use of long text links or containing keywords that are mostly just for crawling engines.
  • Unnecessary link work, which does not help the user when redirecting the site.


Be careful with the site links you link

You can transfer some of your site's track record to another site when your site links to that other site. Sometimes users can take advantage of this by adding a link to their own site in your feedback section or message board. 


Or sometimes you may say a site negatively and don't want to put your site's track record on that site. For example, you are writing a website entry on a topic related to response spamming and want to mention a site that has recently spammed responses on your website. 


You want to remind someone of this site, so you include a link to that site in your content; however, you definitely don't want to give some track record of your links for that site. This is a good time to use nofollow.


Another example of using the "nofollow" attribute is the link widget. When using 3rd faction widgets to improve user experience and engagement on your site, check to see if they contain links that you don't want to put on the site alongside the widget. 


Some widgets can add links to your site and these addons are not optional and contain text links which may not be controlled by the site owner. If you can't remove links from unwanted widgets, 


You can disable it at any time using "nofollow". When you create a widget for the purpose of functionality or content you provide, make sure to include nofollow on the link in the standard code snippet.


Finally, if you are interested in nofollowing all the links on the page, you can add tags in the tags for that page. You can find full details regarding the robots meta tag on the Google Search Center website39.


Fight spam responses with "nofollow"

Setting the value of the "rel" attribute of a link to "nofollow" or "ugc" will tell Google if certain links on your site are not eligible to follow or may not give your page a track record to the associated landing page. 


Including nofollow on a link means adding rel="nofollow" or a more detailed attribute like "ugc" in the anchor tag for the link, as shown below:

When is this feature useful? If your site has a website with audience feedback enabled, the links in that response give your track record to pages you probably don't want to help. The site's response site on the page is particularly vulnerable to spammy responses. 


Nofollowing these user-added links will ensure you don't give your hard-earned page track record to spammy sites.


Automatically add "nofollow" attribute to comment boxes and message boards

Some website software packages automatically add a nofollow attribute to user responses, but these edits can be done manually for those who don't. This treatment is recommended for sites with user-generated content, such as guest books, communities, opinion columns, reference lists, and so on. 


If you are ready to guarantee a link added by a 3rd party (for example, if the observer is a trustworthy person), you do not need to use nofollow on the link; however, linking to sites that Google views as spam can affect your own site


Maximizing your images

Use HTML images

Use the HTML image component to attach the image to the content.


Use components or HTML.

Semantic HTML markup helps crawlers find and process images. By using components, you can choose several different monitor sizes for responsive images. You might use the loading="lazy" attribute on images to make loading pages faster for your users.

Stay away from:

  • Using CSS to display the images you expect us to index.


Use the "alt" attribute

Provide a prescriptive file name and alt attribute description for the image. The "alt" attribute allows you to specify alternative text for the image if the original text cannot be shown due to some arguments.


Why use this attribute? When a user views your site using a peer-to-peer technology, such as a screen reader, the alt attribute content provides information about the image.


Another argument is, if you use an image as a link, the alternative text for the image will be treated the same as the text link in the link text. However, we don't recommend using too many images for links in site navigation if link text can fulfill similar directions. 


Finally, maximizing image filenames and alternative text will make it easier for image search projects like Google Image Search to understand your images better.


Use fast but prescriptive filenames and alternative text

As with other parts of the page targeted for maximum, filenames and quick but prescriptive alternative text are the best options.

Stay away from:

  • Use generic filenames such as "image1.jpg", "pic.gif", "1.jpg" whenever possible—if your site has several thousand images, it should automatically name the images.
  • The longest file name.
  • The use of keywords that are mostly in alternative text or copy and paste all sentences.


Use alternative text when using an image as a link

If you choose to use an image as a link, the alternative text content will help Google better understand the page you are linking to. Think you are writing link text for a text link.

Stay away from:

  • Writing alternative text that is so long that it is seen as spam.
  • Use image links to navigate your site.


Help search engines find your image gambar

Image sitemaps can provide further information about images found on your site to Googlebot. This treatment will increase the chances of your image being found in Image Search results. This file structure is similar to the XML sitemap file for your page.


Using the standard drawing pattern

Use supported common file types - Some browsers provide support for JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, and WebP image patterns. You should have an extension of the filename that matches the file type.


Make your site mobile-friendly

Today, many people are using mobile devices. Many people search Google using mobile devices. The desktop version of the site may be difficult to view and use on mobile devices. As a result, mobile sites become the main side in the online world. 


In fact, starting in late 2016, Google has started experimenting with prioritizing the use of site versus mobile content for ranking, structured data parsing, and citation work.


Choose mobile tactics

There are ways to get your site ready and Google supports other implementation systems:

  • Responsive site design (Referred)
  • Active broadcasting
  • Separate URL


After creating a site that is accessible via mobile devices, you can use the Google Mobile-friendly Site Test to check if the pages on the site meet the requirements to be labeled "Mobile-friendly" on Google Search results pages. 


You can check the Mobile Search Console Benefits report to fix any issues with mobile benefits affecting the site.


If your site provides a lot of static content (such as website posts or product landing pages) across multiple pages, think about implementing it using AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages). 


This is an HTML-only feature that makes sure your site is easy and fast for users to reach, and can be accelerated further by various platforms, including Google Search.



Configure mobile sites to be indexed properly

Regardless of the composition that you determine to prepare your mobile site, there are many main points that need attention:

  1. If you use Active Broadcasting or have a separate mobile site, signal to Google when the page is formatted for mobile (or has the same page formatted for mobile). This helps Google broadcast your content to mobile searchers right in search results.
  2. If you are using a Responsive Site Design, use the meta tag name="viewport" to tell the browser how to customize the content. When using Active Broadcasting, use the HTTP Vary header to notify user agent dependent changes. If you use separate URLs, signal the link between the 2 URLs by adding tags with rel="canonical" and rel="alternate" components to the page.
  3. Keeping resources still crawlable. Blocking page resources can pass an incomplete story from your site to Google. This often happens when the robots.txt file blocks access to some or all of your page resources. If Googlebot doesn't have access to a page's resources, such as CSS, JavaScript, or images, we may not know if the page was built to display and perform well in a mobile browser. In other words, we may not recognize the page as "mobile-friendly", thus not displaying it properly to users searching on mobile.
  4. Stay away from common mistakes that make it difficult for mobile visitors, such as displaying videos that won't play (for example, Flash videos as important page content).
  5. Mobile pages that provide a poor searcher experience can be demoted in the rankings or shown with a warning in mobile search results. This includes, but is not limited to, full-page interstitials on mobile devices that disrupt the user experience.
  6. Give full functionality to all devices. Mobile users want similar roles - such as responding and paying - and content on mobile and all other devices that your site supports. Except for textual content, make sure all important photos and videos are posted and accessible on mobile devices. For search engines, have all your design data and other metadata ready - such as title, description, link components, and other meta tags - all versus the page.
  7. Make sure the designed data, images, videos, and metadata you have on the desktop site are included on the mobile site.


Test your mobile page with the Mobile-Friendly Test to see if Google sees your site doing well on mobile devices.


When using separate URLs for mobile pages, make sure you test the desktop and mobile URLs, so you can verify if the redirects are known and crawlable.

Promote your site

While a large number of links to the site will be added gradually, as people find your content through search or other means and link to it, Google understands if you want to tell someone about the hard work you have put into your content. 


By promoting new content efficiently, people who are interested in similar subjects will be able to find your site faster. As with most of the points covered in this document, taking these references to such an excessive degree can seriously damage your site's track record.


Posting a website on a site that lets its visitor base know that you're adding something new is a great way to promote your new content or service. Other site owners following your site or RSS feed can notice changes to your site.


Promoting a company or site off line is not a wasted effort. For example, if you have a business website, make sure the URL is listed on business cards, letterheads, posters, and so on. You can send newsletters repeatedly to clients via e-mail notifying them of new content on the company website.

Get to know about social media sites

A site created that focuses on user relationships and feature sharing will make it easier for the site to be found by interested user groups with the right content.

Stay away from:

  • Efforts are always to promote each new content, give a glimpse of the content created; It is better to concentrate on the points that are attractive to and famous.
  • Bringing the site to a scheme that makes content propagated to the top state of the service is not uncommon.


Reach some people in the community related to your site

Chances are, there are several sites that concentrate on the same topic as yours. Open communication with some of these sites is generally beneficial. Popular topics in your niche or commune can provide additional ideas for content or make great commune references.

Stay away from:

  • The transport of spammy link wishes to all sites related to your topic place.
  • Purchasing links from other sites in the direction of gaining PageRank.


Analyze search performance and user behavior

Analyze your search performance

Specialized search engines, including Google, provide several free tools for site owners to analyze their performance on their search engines. At Google itself, that tool is Search Console.


Search Console provides 2 important groups of info: Can Google find my content? How do I perform on Google Search results?


Using Search Console doesn't help your site get special action; however, this treatment can help identify issues that, if addressed, could help your site perform better in search results.

With this service, site owners can:

  • Witnessed which side of the site had problems being crawled by Googlebot
  • Test and submit sitemaps
  • Analyze or create a robots.txt file
  • Eliminate URLs that have been crawled by Googlebot
  • Define your preferred domain
  • Identifying issues with title and description meta tags
  • Understand the steps the top search uses to reach the site
  • Watch a glimpse of Googlebot's viewing page
  • Receive basic quality violation notices and ask for a reason to repeat the site
  • Microsoft Bing WebMaster Tools offers a free tool for site owners.


Analyze user behavior on your site


If you've increased your site's crawling and indexing using Google Search Console or another service, you'll likely want to know about the traffic coming to your site. Website analytics programs like Google Analytics are the perfect data reference in this case. You can use it for:

  • Obtain data about how users reach and behave on your site
  • Find the most popular content on your site
  • Calculating the impact of the optimizations you make on your site, for example, does changing the description and title meta tags increase traffic from search engines?


For advanced users, the information provided in the analytics package, combined with data from server log files, can provide more in-depth information about how visitors interact with the document (such as additional keywords that searchers might use to find your site).
